Benefits of sticker play
I’m sure I’ve said it before but creating a sticker-based activity has so many benefits! I found these fancy safari-themed stickers at Michaels the other day. They were probably scrapbooking stickers but that’s okay because it just seemed like a treat for my little guy.
During this activity, we worked on: 1) Fine motor skills -Since these stickers were different from our normal ones, he needed to use his fingers differently to remove them from the sheet.
2) Social-Emotional skills -We’re working on asking for help when feeling frustrated and he’s actually starting to ask for help!
3) Building language -We used the opportunity to identify the stickers by animal name, color, and sound
4) Counting -We counted the stickers several times because he thinks counting is fun!
