We’re learning about body parts this week so we decided to start the week of with an ice tray sorting activity that focused on little hands and fingers!
Materials needed: -Ice tray -Poof balls -Tongs (I used the tongs that came with my bottle sterilizer because they were the perfect size for my son)
Key points during this activity: -I let my son explore the materials on his own to see what he was able to do without assistance. Using this approach is a great way to gauge your child’s abilities and can help you create more meaningful activities.
-I helped him focus on what his hands/fingers were doing by narrating his actions (i.e. your fingers are squeezing the tongs)
-We practiced identifying hands/fingers
