Today we used play-doh to work on our counting and fine motor skills as well as whole-arm movements. The concept is pretty simple and all you need is play-doh and little hands!
To prep for the activity, I rolled some play-doh into a log. The little guy and I talked about how there was just one log. I suggested we pull them apart to see what happens— and sure enough, there were two! I was so excited about there being two logs that he wanted to make three logs, then four logs, and so on. It became a fun little game for him!
This is a great way to work on simple math for older kids as well!
