Supervised play with a balloon (or multiple balloons) can result in many learning opportunities! Some skills that can be worked on with balloons for infants and toddlers include:
gross motor skills (crawling/standing/walking/running/throwing)
building language (identifying the balloon by name or color)
mathematical skills (object permanence, color sorting, matching)
Preschool and school aged children can explore balloons in a scientific matter in addition to fun games. For example, make predictions about what household objects weigh less than a balloon and use a scale to test the theory!
